Calgary Stampede Novice Tour
Calgary Stampede Novice Tour is designed to help build the future stars of rodeo. In addition to covering the entry fees of the young athletes competing at the tour rodeos in Handhills, Lea Park, Innisfail, Ponoka, Calgary and Strathmore, the Stampede also provides additional prize money for the riding events of novice saddle bronc, novice bareback and boys’ steer riding. These resources allow young rodeo athletes to participate in more rodeos, improve their skills and gain valuable experience. 4-H gives youth the opportunity to show and compete with a wide array of projects such as agriculture-related interests, computer and lifestyle, lip-sync and more. We are proud to host 4-H on Parade, Canada’s largest 4-H event each year.

International Youth Livestock is one of the largest and fastest-growing youth agriculture competitions in Canada, helping competitors become future agricultural community leaders. Competitors develop public speaking skills, livestock knowledge, industry knowledge, and organization skills.

Calgary Stampede Royalty consists of the First Nations Princess and Stampede Princess. Each year the reigning Royals attend hundreds of community and Stampede events as ambassadors of the Calgary Stampede, sharing and celebrating Stampede’s western heritage, cultures and community spirit locally and around the world.

Stampede School provides week-long learning experiences, engaging students from grades 1 to 12 in western heritage and values. Our experts include a professional horse trainer, Treaty 7 First Nations consultants, cowboys and western artists. Stampede Showband provides a dynamic, performance-oriented educational program for young musicians and dancers. Participants expand their skills and perform for thousands of people. The group makes more than 200 appearances during the 10-day Stampede in July and presents their unique brand of entertainment to audiences the world over. This international exposure has made them one of the world's finest marching ensembles.

The Young Canadians captivate audiences with high-energy performances at the Stampede Grandstand Show. The Young Canadians School for the Performing Arts develops and trains its talented cast through scholarship-based, professional instruction in voice, musical theatre, gymnastics, and dance techniques. The program has given tuition-free training to thousands of talented young people.
