The Calgary Stampede Foundation supports the youth of Alberta by providing dynamic programming that promotes citizenship and education, and enhances leadership skills and personal growth. The Foundation creates spaces that connect with the arts, heritage and education in order to make a vibrant and engaging community.

Journey 2050
Journey 2050 is a free, interdisciplinary, inquiry-based agriculture education program that challenges students to answer the essential question: “How will we sustainably feed nearly 10 billion people by the year 2050?” Journey 2050 takes students on a virtual simulation exploring world food sustainability, while empowering them to think deeper and understand their impact on the world around them. Journey 2050 is a free educational experience for grades 4+, offered as a field trip or guest speaker opportunity.
Calgary Stampede Showband
The World Champion Calgary Stampede Showband was created in 1971 to serve as the musical ambassadors for the Calgary Stampede. The group features over 140 performers between the ages of 16 and 21, who perform year-round throughout Calgary, Alberta, and internationally. With up to 200 annual performances, the program offers diverse opportunities to develop performance, musicianship, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Calgary Stampede Showriders
The Calgary Stampede Showriders are a dynamic group of young equestrians with a distinctive western flair. Formed in 1985, the team performs in musical rides, parades, and rodeos across Southern Alberta and has traveled to destinations in the United States and Europe. The Showriders program provides community youth with opportunities to learn individual and group horsemanship skills, and ride and perform in an engaging and team oriented environment.
Band of Outriders
The Band of Outriders are an energetic ensemble that have performed for audiences since 1991. As Stampede ambassadors, Band of Outriders extend their musical version of western hospitality to local crowds and thousands of Calgary visitors every day during the annual Stampede.
Young Canadians School of Performing Arts
The Young Canadians School of Performing Arts offers youth the opportunity to train in dance, voice, and performance, while inspiring both artistic and personal excellence. The Young Canadians were first featured in the Calgary Stampede Grandstand Show in 1968 and have wowed audiences ever since.
Stampede School
Stampede School is an immersive educational experience for students in grades 1 to 12 that relocates their classroom to Stampede Park. In their new setting, students and teachers experience deep and innovative learning and make connections to history, agriculture, Indigenous traditions and cultures, and western heritage and values. Each class’ week-long experience is customized to fit their particular curriculum and individual needs.
Stampede Summer Camp
Join us down at Stampede Park for a week of summer fun! Campers will learn about Stampede traditions, explore Indigenous culture, and try their hand at some favourite cowboy activities. Campers will experience a classic Stampede pancake breakfast, tipi raising, miniature horses, line dancing, an ice cream social, and more. The camp is a week-long program providing the opportunity for diverse youth to connect with each other, develop a sense of belonging, and have fun together.
